Certificate in IT a great opportunity to change the world!

Introduction

Nowadays, certification has become a necessity. That is, if we want to show to the IT industry and prove that we have the adequate skills and knowledge, then we must get an IT certificate. Therefore, certificates such as ECDL, MOS, MCP, MCTS, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, etc., of organizations and industries such as CompTIA, ECDL, Certiport, Microsoft, and Cisco may be familiar to anyone who has one such certification. Moreover, the same is less or not known at all to others who do not have a certificate in IT. Thus, in the following sections, you can learn what an IT certificate is, why an IT certificate is needed, and how to get Certified in IT?

What is an IT certificate?

If you think that the IT certificate is just a piece of a Letter or A4 that looks nice and that you can take a selfie with, then I say you are partly right. Nevertheless, if you think that a certificate in IT is the ID of your IT skills and knowledge, then I assume you are entirely correct. Like that, from identification to validation as well as from training to certification, IT certificate is a document that shows and proves that the person with the certificate has the skills, knowledge, experience, and talent for the technology for which the certificate is issued. According to Todd Thibodeaux, president and CEO at CompTIA, “the certificate represents a reliable mechanism of current as well as advanced knowledge.”

Why do I need an IT certificate?

On the need for a certificate, Tom Brokaw says, “think of it as your ticket to change the world.”

From the evidence that you have the right technical skills and knowledge to the desire for better welfare, many factors will make you decide to obtain an IT certificate. However, significant is the fact that organizations and businesses are interested in hiring certified candidates. While in developed countries, the hiring of certified candidates has become the standard and trend of the time, companies in third countries have gradually begun to practice the search and recruitment of certified candidates. Thus, while for businesses, an application coming from a certified candidate means less time-consuming and costly hiring process, on the other hand, having an IT certificate for certified candidates means:

  • increased employment opportunity
  • proving that you are an expert in the field
  • enabling to apply theoretical knowledge to practical work
  • faster adaptation to the work environment
  • opportunity for a prosperous professional career

How to get certified in IT?

It all begins with the desire to learn. The higher the desire to learn, the greater the chance of being successful in getting the skills and knowledge. However, besides learning, maximum commitment is required in practicing the technology that you are learning.

For example, if you are aiming to get certified in CompTIA A+, then you need to learn about PC hardware and software. That being said, along with the theoretical part, you should also devote considerable time to practice the work with equipment and installation of OS and software, troubleshooting hardware and software problems, working with peripheral devices and network, etc. When you feel that you have already mastered both the theoretical and practical aspects of the personal computer, then you can decide to challenge your skills and knowledge through the CompTIA A+ certification exam. Before taking the exam, you should find out who is delivering the exam. Once you find out that, you need to contact the PearonVUE accredited testing center in your town, city, or country to complete the registration. Apart from that, you can register your exam from the PearonVUE web site as well. Taking the exam and passing it successfully makes you receive an e-mail from an exam client stating that you are certified in CompTIA A+ and with it eligible to receive an IT certificate too. Thus, in a significant period, 4 to 6 weeks, the certificate and other materials associated with the certificate will arrive at your mailing address, the one that you have used during registration. All that indicates and proves that you hold the certificate and title in the technology for which the certificate has been issued.
